"Black Boots"
by Steve Tracy
Doc Martins, they are not, but many young kids ask that. Old shoes are a
metaphor of life. These are elevated on a wood stoop, or as the song
says, "standing on a stool, reaching for the stars". One young man said,
"Hey, that's the story of my life!" A lady said, they reminded her of her
father, a coal miner in Wales. Shoes are "understanding", beneath all
the weight of the world, that we carry. The elevation of this image
brings this to new heights, and gives them a break! Look at all the
colors, the colors of our emotions. Each day new feelings, bring out
different colors. and they STAND out.
