"Empire State Building"
by Steve Tracy
The Empire State Building is like a rocket ship taking off from mid-town
Manhattan, every window a porthole to the world. Impressionistic, the
sky reflects the details of the windows themselves. Swirling into a
patterned bulls-eye, the tip of the monument thrusts itself skyward,
taking our feet off the ground. Concurrently the morning sun bathes
gold flashes against the azure blue of the sky.
The original
painting is hanging in the Empire State Building, seen by millions of
people every year, under protective glass in an enclosed case.
